Polaris Protection Plan: Extended Warranty Coverage for Your Polaris
Polaris Factory Extended Protection

Polaris Protection Plan

Keep riding with added protection against unexpected covered mechanical breakdowns after your factory warranty ends.

More Protection. More Confidence. More Time Riding.

Your Polaris was built to work hard, explore farther and keep you moving. The Polaris Protection Plan gives you the opportunity to extend your protection beyond the original factory warranty, helping protect you from unexpected repair costs when a covered mechanical breakdown occurs.

It is factory-backed protection designed specifically for Polaris vehicles, with service available through authorized Polaris Dealers throughout Canada and the United States.

No Mileage or Hour Limits

Protection is not limited by accumulated mileage or operating hours.

Factory-Trained Service

Covered repairs are handled through authorized Polaris Dealers using genuine OEM parts.

Transferable Coverage

Coverage can be transferred to the next owner at no additional cost.

What Is the Polaris Protection Plan?

The Polaris Protection Plan is an extended service contract designed to provide additional protection after your Polaris factory warranty or promotional limited warranty ends.

Instead of being left completely responsible for the cost of a covered mechanical breakdown once your original warranty expires, the Protection Plan can continue your coverage for the term of the contract.

The plan is available for eligible Polaris vehicles while they are still within their factory warranty or promotional limited warranty period. If your factory warranty has already expired, Polaris recommends contacting your local dealer regarding available out-of-warranty options.

When Does the Extended Coverage Begin?

Coverage under the extended service contract begins at the end of your factory warranty or promotional limited warranty. Additional program benefits begin when you purchase the Protection Plan.

What Does the Polaris Protection Plan Cover?

The Polaris Protection Plan covers most components on your vehicle and provides protection against major mechanical breakdowns. Coverage includes a wide range of major vehicle systems.

Engine Assembly Engine cases, cylinder heads, internal engine components, pistons, cylinders, crankshaft main bearings and camshaft components.
Transmission Assembly Transmission case, clutch cover, internal components and gears.
Primary Assembly Primary drive case, internal drive gears and chains and the internal selector mechanism.
Electrical System Wiring harnesses and connectors, alternator/generator, factory instrumentation, voltage regulator and ECU.
Ignition & Starter Ignition switch, electric starter, starter relay and starter drive.
Fuel System Throttle assembly, fuel tank, fuel injector and fuel pump.
Cooling System Radiator, overflow tank, cooling fans and motor, and water pump.
Suspension & Chassis Frame, upper and lower control arms, stabilizer bar and power steering assembly.
Drive Axle Assembly Differential and final drive housings, CV joints, drive shafts and drive axles.
Snowmobile Chain Case Chain case components, sprockets, bearings, shafts, chains, reverse gear and related mechanisms.

It's More Than Mechanical Breakdown Coverage

The Polaris Protection Plan also includes additional benefits that can help when a covered mechanical breakdown interrupts your plans.

Trip Interruption

If you are more than 320 km from home and your trip is interrupted by a covered mechanical breakdown, Polaris may reimburse eligible expenses such as meals, lodging, rental transportation and other miscellaneous expenses, excluding gas and automotive repairs. Coverage is up to $300 per trip, limited to $100 per day and $1,000 over the life of the contract.

Pickup Service & Vehicle Rental

In the event of a mechanical breakdown, Polaris will cover pickup and delivery expenses up to $50 to the nearest Polaris repair facility. The plan also includes vehicle rental reimbursement of $20 per day, up to $120 per repair.

Motorized Polaris Engineered Accessories

The motor of a Polaris-engineered accessory can also be covered for the term of the contract, subject to the standard deductible and applicable contract terms.

What Is the Deductible?

The current Polaris Protection Plan information lists a standard $50 deductible per claim for covered mechanical breakdown repairs.

What Isn't Covered?

Like any extended service contract, the Polaris Protection Plan has exclusions. It is designed to protect against covered mechanical breakdowns, not normal maintenance or normal wear and tear.

  • Normal maintenance and service items such as tune-ups, filters and lubricants are not covered.
  • Normal wear items such as tires, batteries, lighting, bushings, brakes and belts are excluded.
  • Damage caused by impact, lack of maintenance or operating the vehicle beyond its normal use is not covered.
  • Vehicle modifications that are not approved by Polaris may be excluded from coverage.
  • Coverage is not eligible for racing, modified or rental vehicles.

Your specific extended service contract contains the complete terms, conditions and exclusions. Always review your contract for the details that apply to your vehicle.

Can the Polaris Protection Plan Be Transferred?

Yes. Polaris states that Protection Plan coverage can be transferred to the next owner at no cost.

That can be an important benefit if you eventually decide to sell your Polaris. Remaining factory-backed extended coverage may provide additional peace of mind for the next owner while potentially making your vehicle more attractive on the pre-owned market.

Contact a Polaris Dealer for assistance with transferring your coverage.

Does Maintenance Matter?

Absolutely.

Your Polaris must be maintained according to the manufacturer's recommended maintenance schedule. Polaris also recommends keeping your maintenance receipts as proof that the required maintenance has been completed.

Regular maintenance is important not only for keeping your Polaris performing properly, but also for meeting the requirements of your Protection Plan.

When Can You Purchase a Protection Plan?

Polaris states that you are eligible to purchase a Protection Plan at any time while your vehicle is still within its factory warranty or promotional limited warranty period.

That means you do not necessarily have to make the decision on the day you purchase your Polaris. Polaris may offer Extended Warranty on qualifying out-of-warranty vehicles as well.

If you are unsure whether your Polaris is still eligible, contact Grand River Power Sports and we can help determine what options are available.
